During this one-day workshop you will learn the principles behind making yarn and try some spindle spinning, before exploring how those same rubrics apply to spinning at the wheel. Learning about the “whys” behind the “hows” will help you to embark upon a successful and enjoyable journey into spinning. You will be able to evaluate your successes and your “surprises” and develop into a spinner who has ownership of your own processes and outcomes.
Our small group setting allows for one-to-one guidance as well as camaraderie and support from your fellow learners. This workshop encourages a relaxed and pragmatic approach to making stuff out of fluff. Bring a spirit of curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and leave with a burgeoning new skill set, a spindle and some fibre to continue your spinning journey.
All essential tools and materials will be provided on the day.
No prior experience is necessary for this workshop.
