Stranded Colourwork Knitting – Wrist warmers with Aleks Byrd

Explore the possibilities of creative colourful pattern design by learning stranded colourwork knitting. During this workshop you will learn different methods to knit with two colours to create a unique pair of wrist warmers. Gain confidence in making colour choices and working with two or more colours and variegated yarns to create interesting colour combinations and beautiful designs, skills that can then be applied to other knitting projects.

You are encouraged to bring items such as photos or other objects to inspire your colour choices, as well as any 4ply/fingering weight yarn from your stash that you may wish to use.

You will be provided with a selection of mini skeins to use collectively as a group, needles and a project bag.

To get the most from this workshop you should already be familiar with how to knit, purl and knit in the round.

Aleks Byrd is a knitwear designer and illustrator with a love of colour and pattern.
