Porcelain brooches

Handmade porcelain brooches by Gill Oakley of Stone Hens Ceramics who captures the natural beauty of the meadows that surround her home in these exquisite porcelain brooches.

Gill hand cuts the design in to the surface of each brooch and carefully dries to ensure they stay flat as possible. Once it has been bisc fired it’s ready for coloured underglaze, which is later washed off leaving the colour caught in the pattern. Three coats of transparent glaze are then applied and the brooch is then fired again for a final time to 1250’c.

Great for wearing with knitted scarves, a jacket or jumper for that added unique touch and texture. A great gift idea or a special treat to yourself that when worn will remind you of the natural beauty of lush welsh countryside.

Due to the nature of being handmade each brooch is unique adding extra value and charm to every individual piece.
