Description
Ash Farm | Friday 25th September 2026 | 10.00am – 4.30pm
£75 per person + £15 materials (materials fee paid directly to the tutor on the day)
Join Justine Burgess of West Wales Willows for a full day of willow weaving and create your own traditional Irish Skib. Originally used to drain and serve boiled potatoes, the Irish Skib has become a versatile and decorative basket, perfect as a fruit or bread platter, a striking wall hanging, or a colourful centrepiece. This style, reintroduced by Irish basketmaker Jo Hogan, features a distinctive latticed centre and looks stunning when woven with multiple colours of willow.
Justine will bring a selection of her own colourful willow grown on her smallholding, allowing you to design a truly unique basket.

Jane Lloyd Davies –
What a fabulous workshop! Justine is an excellent tutor – an expert in her craft, patient and knowledgeable. The venue is superb, too – the event includes a delicious lunch in the pretty and tranquil surroundings of Ash Farm.
I came away with a completely skrib having had a delightful day – couldn’t be happier.
Thank you so much, Sian, for providing such a great experience!
