FORAGING BACKPACK (£20 materials which is paid directly on the day to tutor. (the addition of leather straps should you decide to add them is an additional £20 paid on the day. Alternatively you can bring your own)
GEMMA HANDBAG £10 materials which is paid directly on the day to tutor. (the addition of leather straps should you decide to add them is an additional £10 paid on the day. Alternatively you can bring your own)

WILLOW BACKPACK INFORMATION: Make your very own willow backpack in this two-day exciting workshop with Justine from West Wales Willows! Not only will you leave with your own handmade item but also with a host of basketry weaving skills. You will learn how to put the Catalan-style base together, weave the sides with a choice of weaving techniques and finish with a border – for example :
– French Rand
– Irish Creel Weave
– 3-rod wale
All of which will be explained to you in full during the workshop.
GEMMA HANDBAG 2-DAY WORKSHOP INFORMATION:
Make a large willow shoulder bag on this 2 day willow workshop under the expert guidance of Justine Burgess of West Wales Willows. This shoulder bag is the perfect size for everyday use, and with a range of willow colours to choose from on the day it can be designed and personalized to your specifications making is truly unique to you. You can complete the basket with 2 leather handles or a shoulder strap, which are not included in the price but an additional cost on the day if you decide to add them. The addition of leather straps is £10 payable on the day. Or you can bring your own straps.
You will learn on the day:
– How to weave the Catalan-style base using a pre-formed hoop and turn up the sides
– How to weave the sides with a selection of weaves – 3-rod wale, French rand
– How to weave a border to finish the basket

The workshop includes a coffee/tea on arrival and homemade lunch.
The cafe will be open for you to purchase any additional drinks or sweet treats you may desire.
This is an ideal workshop for those who have had a go at willow weaving in the past and are looking to expand on their knowledge.
If you are unable to attend the workshop it is your responsibility to find a replacement for your booking.
