An ideal beginner’s introduction to weaving. This workshop will offer instruction in different techniques of willow weaving and basket making including weaving the base, staking up the basket, weaving up the sides and turning down the border to complete this beautiful project for you to take home.
All essential tools and materials will be provided on the day.
No prior experience is necessary for this workshop.
Sarah Hatton is an experienced basket maker and willow grower based in the South Wales Valleys town of Caerphilly. She is committed to making quality willow baskets using materials grown in the UK, which she sells through her company, Hatton Willow. Sarah has also taken part in a number of larger commissions and runs a sister business called, Lily Willow Coffins
