Open Studio Makers

Sian is delighted to be hosting another Open Studio event at Ash Farm for Christmas 2018. Open Studio provides a wonderful opportunity to meet a range of fantastic artists and makers from Pembrokeshire and West Wales.

Do come along on 15th-16th December to indulge in some good food and enjoy good company and a little festive cheer.

Sian will, of course, be selling a selection of knitwear, accessories and home décor items – including some exciting new designs not yet available online – and our friends from the local creative community will be offering a wide range of items for sale. You will be sure to find the inspiration you have been looking for to fill those remaining gaps in your Christmas shopping lists.

Entry and refreshments are free, so please come and join us as we ramp up the crafty Christmas spirit. Find out more about the wonderful sellers who will be helping to make this year’s event so special.

Joining Open Studio for 2018

Sarah Hatton of Hatton Willow will be bringing along a lovely selection of artisan baskets and natural Christmas decorations. These thoughtfully designed items, expertly crafted from managed Welsh willow, are the epitome of functional beauty.

Will’s Upholstery skillfully employs the beauty of simple forms to let the essential qualities of carefully selected materials and artisan techniques speak for themselves in his stunning range of leather and waxed canvas bags, belts and sustainable coffee cups.

Sian Reason-Jones brings urban chic to rural West Wales with an inspired collection of contemporary concept jewellery this is both striking and wearable, combining industrial materials with organic forms to create uniquely beautiful pieces.

Gill Oakley from Stone Hen Ceramics has gifts for crafters and collectors of beautiful things. From buttons that tell the tales of vintage textiles to luminous candleholders, Christmas decorations and art plaques, her individually crafted pieces will bring texture and light to your Christmas décor and throughout the year.

Alison Moger’s unique approach to textile art will be sure to put smiles on faces. Her lively and quirky designs using free machine embroidery and applique techniques result in framed artworks, small accessories and decorative items that have bags of delightful personality.

Four Seasons Farm Shop and Floristry have been supplying the Tenby area with fine fresh produce, often locally sourced, and carefully selected gourmet items for over thirty years. They will be offering a mouth-watering selection of gift ideas, including a range of hampers for your favourite foodies.

Four Seasons will be joined, this year, by Victoria Mansell. Her gorgeous Christmas wreaths combine natural evergreens and seasonal foliage to beautifully exemplify the tradition of bringing living colour into our homes over the Christmas period.

New this autumn… spinning a yarn.

One of Sian’s favourite projects this year has been the launch of her new alpaca yarn, Rheydr. She has been working with the spinners at the Natural Fibre Company to find the perfect blend to complement and enhance the drape and sheen of the fibre from her own alpacas. A touch of Blueface Leicester adds just the right amount of memory and springiness to produce a lustrous yarn that is a joy to work with – and to wear!

Perfect for gloves, scarves and shawls (think lacework and flowing styles), Rheydr will make the perfect gift for the knitter in your life looking for a little Christmas indulgence.

It’s true… Christmas really is coming!
