Why this day is special

World Tai Chi Day is a global celebration of mindful movement and shared practice. At Ash Farm, we’ll mark the day with a gently paced, nourishing experience that brings together Tai Chi, guided meditation and wholesome food — offering space to slow down, reconnect and feel fully supported from start to finish.

What’s included

  • Tai Chi teaching with Steve Whiddett

  • A 45-minute guided meditation with Jo Rees

  • Matcha or herbal tea on arrival

  • Homemade lunch in the Ash Farm Café

  • Afternoon sweet treat: date, nut butter & cacao bark

  • A calm, welcoming countryside setting

  • Small group, unhurried pace

Join us for a relaxing and enriching day as we celebrate World Tai Chi Day in a peaceful rural setting.

Under the guidance of experienced local instructor Steve Whiddett, you’ll explore a series of Tai Chi exercises designed to support both physical and mental wellbeing. Through slow, flowing movements, breath awareness and partner work, the practice encourages balance, coordination, strength and calm.

Tai Chi originates from traditional Chinese martial arts and is practised through slow, flowing movements that develop balance, coordination and internal awareness. Alongside its martial roots, Tai Chi is also deeply informed by principles found within traditional Chinese medicine and is widely valued today for its calming and restorative effects on both body and mind.

To close the day, we’ll finish with a 45-minute guided meditation led by Jo Rees. Drawing on gentle breathwork, meditative storytelling and the surrounding environment, this session weaves together guided and quiet meditation. Suitable whether you are new to meditation or more experienced, it offers a deeply nourishing way to slow the mind and absorb the benefits of the day. The shared experience of meditating together in a calm, natural setting makes for a powerful and restorative close.

On arrival, guests will be welcomed with a warming matcha or herbal tea, setting a grounded tone for the day. Throughout the workshop you’ll be nourished with homemade food from the Ash Farm Café, including a delicious homemade lunch and a date, nut butter and cacao bark served as the afternoon sweet treat.

Pebble snood

I now have 3 of Sian’s snoods and each one is a work of art. Each time I wear them people comment how beautiful they are and they are also supremely cosy. My newest is the petrol blue/orange pebble snood and it is gorgeous. Thank you so much Sian, I LOVE IT!

The recipients adored your teddies. As indeed I do. They are quirky unique and truly beautiful. I am just hoping that I will become a grandmother soon- an excuse to buy more! As it is – my sofas are graced with your stunning cushions- they will have to do for now 🙁

Thanks also for your speedy responses and lightning quick delivery- so professional. I would not hesitate recommending you and your wonderful work to one and all. Thanks Siân.

I first discovered Sian’s work at a craft festival a few months back in Cardiff where I purchased one of her pebble infinity scarfs that I absolutely fell in love with. More recently I bought a pair of her wrist warmers, which arrived today, and again are absolutely perfect. I love the style of Sian’s work which I find very unusual but also not too in your face, so it’s easy to pair anything she makes with any outfit! Sian sent me progress photos as she was making my gloves which I really appreciated and this added a very personal touch. Will definitely be buying more of her beautiful things in the future! Highly recommended X

I’ve just bought another two strata snoods/ neck warmers which have become my must have gift for friends and family. I wear mine all the time. They are very practical and versatile, not to mention stylish and surprisingly warm. If you are out and about a lot you too will become addicted.

Kathryn Mcconachie, Cardiff

So beautifully soft and warm. Dangerous to visit the workshop though Sian as I now have a VERY long wish list
Thank you I’m delighted with my new jumper and scarf. Xxx

Sian Swales, Tenby

Hi Sian I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I was to receive your beautiful travel wrap in the mail a few weeks ago. It was a complete surprise as it was a gift from my sister Eleri. As I unwrapped it I fell in love with the colour, laver, and only realized the versatility of the piece as I tried it on. It is so soft and cosy and drapes beautifully. I’ve already worn it with my jeans and boots instead of a jacket and with a dress to a formal function. It’s my new favourite piece, I love it. Thankyou!

Catrin Prevost

I just received my beautiful aqua and navy poncho – thank you Sian! I’m absolutely thrilled with it. Beautifully made and so very soft. I may just have to order another one in a different colourway!!! Xx

Alexia English

Sian has made my beautiful contemporary cushions to match my gorgeous navy velvet sofas and I am absolutely thrilled with them. They add just the right sophisticated touch that I was looking for. Fab! Thank you so very much. I can’t wait to order more for the other sofa now xx

Caroline Williams

I bought some gorgeous cushions from Sian to go in our guest room. Her communication about the order was clear and quick, the cushions are such a beautiful design and the colours are just exactly what I wanted. They were even hand delivered and packaged beautifully. Thank you Sian!

Rose Wood, Cardigan

I Love the blanket I purchased from Sian. The combination of traditional Welsh design with the softness of the wool, is perfect for cold winter nights. Also so versatile as it compliments both traditional and contemporary living styles.

Caroline Edwards

Sian sells beautiful alpaca yarn and products from west wales. My purchase was smooth, communication excellent and delivery quick. I would recommend this company.
