Join Justine Burgess of West Wales Willows for a relaxing day of traditional willow weaving and create your own beautiful handwoven willow shoulder bag.
Practical, stylish and full of character, these bags are perfect for countryside walks, gathering flowers, farmers’ markets, beach days and everyday adventures. Woven using naturally colourful willow grown on Justine’s West Wales smallholding, each bag is completely unique.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some weaving experience, this small-group workshop offers plenty of individual guidance throughout the day. You’ll be guided step by step through the process, learning traditional willow weaving techniques while creating a beautiful and functional piece to take home.

Workshop Fee: £75 per person
Materials Fee: £15 payable directly to Justine on the day
Optional Leather Straps: £12 payable on the day, or feel free to bring your own leather straps if preferred.

About the Tutor
Your tutor is Justine Burgess of West Wales Willows, a full-time willow weaver based in Carmarthenshire. She grows around 260 varieties of willow on her smallholding and has been awarded the National Plant Collection of Salix from Plant Heritage. Justine is a member of the Basketmakers’ Association (UK), Heritage Crafts, and Plant Heritage, and is known for her warm, knowledgeable teaching style.
