£595 plus material costs paid direct to tutor on the day of workshop (£90 with all fabrics, trims, paper, interfacing etc. Fabrics chosen beforehand. Or £50 if you bring your own dressmaking fabrics.)

Three days.

Day one – Pattern cutting and sampling.

Day two – Cutting out and preparing the final garment.

Day three – Finishing the final garment to a professional level.

This new advanced course is run by dressmaking expert and bestselling Author, Helen Rhiannon. Helen has gained extensive knowledge over the last 18 years from designing and creating bespoke clothing and bridal-wear. Helen has also taught sewing and dressmaking for many years, which led her to publish her bestselling book, ‘Dressmaking. The Easy Guide’.

This course is a natural continuation from the first dressmaking course held at Ash Farm. Using the well fitted blocks created on the three day course, Helen will teach you how to adapt your patterns to create a garment, or garments of your choice. This will include dresses, tops and skirts. (Not trousers.) You will delve a little deeper into a range of pattern cutting skills, to help you realise what you can achieve using some simple and more advanced techniques. Day one will be focused on pattern cutting and sampling some of your ideas in calico.

On day two, you will start to work on your final garments. Helen will help you check your patterns, before cutting them out in the fabric of your choice. You will then spend time preparing your garments before starting to construct them with Helen’s help and guidance.

Day three will be focussed on construction of your garments. Helen will be offering many professional tips along the way to help you create your unique, well fitted garments. Every little detail will be covered in this unique and exciting dressmaking course.

Before the course, Helen will be on hand to discuss the ideas you have and what types of garments can be achieved, so that you get the most out of the course. This can be via email or video call.

Material costs £50 with all calico, paper, threads, interfacing, zips etc.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel a workshop

We try our best to price our workshops fairly and offer good value for money. We therefore have a clear non-refundable policy to ensure that we cover our costs and the ongoing viability of the workshop.

We do appreciate that sometimes-unforeseen circumstances may mean that you can’t attend a workshop so we are happy for you to send along a friend to take your place, we will need their name and contact details prior to the workshop.

If you contact us at least 14 days in advance of the start date of the workshop, then we can offer a transfer to the same workshop on an alternative date, providing there are places available or a workshop is planned. If there are no suitable future dates, we can provide a voucher to be used for a future workshop booking.

Please note that there are no make-ups for missed sessions if the workshop is over more than one session.

Our right to cancel a workshop

Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for travel or other costs.
